This is a weekly, ongoing Blacksmithing class led by Jordy the Knife Maker, a professional Blacksmith based in Thonotosassa, Florida. Classes are held every Wednesday AM and PM and focus on teaching students the fundamentals of blacksmithing— going beyond simply completing a project to developing the actual skills, techniques, and mindset essential to the craft.

The class is open to all ages and is a great fit for adults, teens, and homeschoolers looking for a hands-on, skill-based experience.

What’s Included

For $200/month, students receive:
    •    Weekly instruction with a Master Blacksmith
    •    Full access to forge equipment and tools
    •    All basic materials for skill-building and practice
    •    Safety equipment provided
    •    A small-group setting for personal guidance and a growing community

How It Works
For the first several of sessions, students focus on building a strong foundation: learning proper forging technique, heat control, safety, and shop awareness. Once a student is confident and ready, they’ll gain access to a project menu with beginner, intermediate, and advanced items.
Each project comes with a separate materials cost. Students choose their project based on their current skill level and pay only for the materials needed to complete it. These projects are completed during regular Wednesday class time with continued guidance and feedback. This approach allows each student to progress at their own pace while still being challenged to grow.

I bought our family this unique experience for a Christmas present. I really didn't know what to expect and as the time approached, I had a little anxiety because we have a 5 and an 8 year old. When the six of us arrived, Jordan welcomed us with grins and kindness. He could tell I was a little apprehensive and assured me that he works with children organizations a lot and not to be concerned. I'm not sure what will be the most memorable about our day but I can share a few highlights. I was astonished how Jordan could keep us all moving forward on our life project while in the background preparing and cooking fabulous meal. We've eaten at some prestigious restaurants but we've never had a better meal than hat we ate today. The fact that our young grandchildren could be relaxed in this environment meant so much to the and all of us because it's an experience they will never forget. And the next thing I would say, Jordan helped everyone in the room achieve their vision of the knife they wanted. Not one person left that facility without a smile on their face - from the five year old to the 84 year old. GREAT day, GREAT place, and GREAT guy!!!!!!
